Inspired by Argyll’s coastlines and nature my more recent work is mainly intuitive expressive abstract, trying to capture and evoke nature’s unending flow of hue, ingenuity and diversity through mark-making and colour

I want my paintings to evoke feelings of quiet childlike spaciousness awe wonder delight and sometimes just fun!

While my earlier watercolour-based work was much more a personal record of rising to the challenge & learning to become an artist with constantly fluctuating energy and strength levels, currently it's inspired by the many transitions — creative, personal, health-related, emotional, and artistic—between then and now.
