Mark has been working with a single oak tree for over 10 years. After the oak tree was felled in a storm, his original photographs have become the source, allowing him to manipulate and combine them with a few selected mediums. Many pieces explore the relationship between the oak tree and the sun while re-imagining the time spent around the oak tree.
In 2021 mark moved to Dumfries and Galloway. His latest project Tidelines, uses beach gathered materials as the source for making pigment to create pieces inspired by the views of the Solway Firth coastline.
