Event Overview

Scotland’s biggest contemporary art and craft market is set to debut in August 2025 at Dalkeith Palace and Country Park. With 110 stalls spanning both the grounds of Dalkeith Country Park and interior of Dalkeith Place, this artist and maker market will showcase exciting pieces that hail from across Scotland. 

This landmark event marks the first time Visual Arts Scotland has ventured beyond its renowned programme of exhibitions, residencies and awards since launching over 100 years ago. Dalkeith Palace and Country Park will be transformed into a hotbed of creativity – visitors will explore and buy art, meet makers from across Scotland and beyond, and enjoy curated exhibitions in the historic venue just 7 miles from Edinburgh.

Visual Arts Scotland's first Artist & Maker Market will take place on:

Public Dates: Friday 15th – Sunday 17th August 2025
Public Times: 10:30 AM – 4:30 PM daily                                
Location: Dalkeith Palace and Country Park, Dalkeith, EH22 2NA
Public Car Parking: £3 per day                                    
Entry: Free to the public

Exhibitors Information

Setup: Friday 15th August, 7:00 AM – 9:45 AM
Pack-down: Sunday 17th August, 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Interior Table (182x76x76cm)
• VAS Members: £120 (£40/day)
• Non-Members: £180 (£60/day)

Please note all interior tables come with a white table cloth. 

Exterior Stall (located at the front of Dalkeith Palace and Country Park; covered and weather-protected, 8ft x 4ft)
• VAS Members: £120 (£40/day)
• Non-Members: £180 (£60/day)

Please note all exterior stalls do not come with table coverings. The exterior stall holders have access to power but the stalls themselves do not have power.

The selection panel will include representatives from Visual Arts Scotland.

Applicants will be informed of the results of their application by the 16th June.
