My abstract images and montages begin with surfaces discovered in my wanderings – hence the strapline “digital art on the run” and I use whatever I have to hand, which is usually a smart phone.
My interest is in colour, light and texture and I delight in transforming images through digital manipulation, often blending multiple images, printing on non-standard papers and using these to create collages with other materials. Increasingly, I combine these with other mark making using mixed media to add further layers of abstraction.
Although I strive for the abstract, I like working from found images so that the final work will retain an “organic memory” of the real world which in turn provides a hook for the viewer’s imagination.
